Lemon Sardine Pasta

What flavor is a perfect pair with sardines?

Lemon adds a zesty and tangy flavor that enhances the rich flavor the sardines offer. It makes a dish seem lighter and more refreshing, so this flavor pairing is perfect for a quick lunch. We love how our La Barca Lemon with Sardines have a real slice of lemon in the tin!


What you will need:

  • Sardines with Lemon
  • Pasta
  • 1 large lemon
  • 1-2 cloves of garlic
  • 2 tbsp of butter
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
  • Ground black pepper to taste

How to make Lemon Sardine Pasta:

  1. In a medium or large sized pot, cook your preferred pasta until al dente.
  2. While the pasta is cooking, mince your garlic and add it to a separate pan on medium heat with your butter. 
  3. Once the garlic is fragrant, remove it from the heat.
  4. When the pasta is complete, drain it and toss in the butter and garlic mixture. 
  5. Then, cut your lemon in half and squeeze that half onto the pasta and mix.
  6. Once the pasta is fully coated, begin to plate your dish. After the pasta is added to your bowl or plate, open the sardine tin and place the sardines on top of the pasta.
  7. Finally, sprinkle your parsley and pepper on top and, for an extra tangy flavor, squeeze a few more drops of lemon juice from the other half of your lemon. Enjoy!
